What are ringtones & images?
Downloads allow you to customize your compatible TELUS Mobility phone with cool ringtones and screensaver images. Check if your phone is download capable.
 
What are voicetones?
Voicetones let you experience a new level of ringtones that further expresses your personality on your TELUS Mobility phone. Ringtones are portions of a songs melody without the singer or band voices. Voicetones are ringtones WITH the singer or band voices. Voicetones can also just be a voice without a melody in the background. For example, a voicetone could be a one liner from a movie like Howdy Partner! from Toy Story.
 
How do downloads work?
There are two ways to download ringtones and images:
 
1. From your phone:
Select your phone from the list below for specific downloading instructions:

2. From this Web site (mytelusmobility.com):
  • NOTE: If you've never used the Wireless Web on your phone, you will need to set up your phone's browser before you start downloading.
  • Follow these steps for browser set up:
  • Press the "Menu" key on your phone
  • A message will appear: "Security is not enabled. Enabling security can take several minutes. Proceed?" Select YES and create a new unique security key for your phone.
  • This will take several minutes, do not turn off your phone.
    To download:
  1. Select "Downloads" from "Other cool things you can do".
  2. Click on your phone model from the list of download capable phones (first time users only).
  3. Choose Ringtones or Images from the menu.
  4. Browse through the selections and pick the item you want to download.
  5. You can preview a ringtone or image before making your selection.
  6. Once you've purchased your ringtone or image, a message containing your item will be delivered to your phone (there is no charge for this message).
  7. Open the message and select "Yes" to confirm your purchase and initiate downloading.
  8. A message will appear on your phone's screen to let you know when the download is complete.
  9. Once the files are downloaded, you will need to assign which ringtone or image you'd like to use on your phone.
 
Will I be charged for the message delivered to my phone containing my ringtone, voicetone or image selection?
No, there is no extra charge for the message that delivers your item to your phone.
 
What is a download fee?
This is a charge that covers the cost of downloading your ringtone or image to your phone. This flat fee is charged in place of variable airtime fees or text message charges so you know the total cost of each download up front.
 
How are ringtones, voicetones or images charged to my invoice or account?
PCS and Mike Clients
TELUS Mobility clients will see the charges for their downloaded ringtones and/or images appear on their next monthly invoice. Applicable taxes will be added to the purchase price of each downloaded item.
 
Pay & Talk Clients
TELUS Mobility Pay & Talk clients will have their total downloaded ringtones and/or images deducted from the value of their Pay & Talk account balances.
 
Only items that have successfully downloaded to your phone will be charged.
 
 
Getting ringtones, voicetones and images
 
What do I need in order to get a ringtone or image?
1. You will need a TELUS Mobility download capable phone. Check if your phone is download capable
2. You will need to be in a TELUS Mobility digital coverage area within Canada to complete the download of your ringtone or image.
 
How do I know when the ringtone or image has been downloaded to my phone?
A message will appear on your phone's screen letting you know the download was successful. You can then view, assign, or delete the ringtone or image files from the "Manage" folder within the Downloads menu. Find out more
 
Can I preview a ringtone or image before downloading it to my phone?
You can preview ringtones and images using your computer, online at mytelusmobility.com. To preview selections using your computer, you will need a sound card and an application that can play MP3 files. Images can also be previewed on your phone before you make a selection.
 
NOTE: While TELUS Mobility strives to ensure that ringtones and images will be reproduced on your phone as they are on the TELUS Mobility Web site, we don't guarantee that a ringtone or image will function on your phone exactly as previewed.
 
Can Pay & Talk clients download ringtones and images?
Downloads are available to all TELUS Mobility PCS and Mike clients who have a download capable phone Pay & Talk clients will need to have a balance in their account to cover the price of the selection(s) they want to download.
 
Will I be charged for downloads that are not completed?
No, you'll only be charged for ringtones and images that have successfully downloaded onto your phone.
 
What if my selection didn't download successfully from mytelusmobility.com?
  1. Make sure your phone is turned on.
  2. Check that your phone is in a TELUS Mobility digital service area in Canada.
  3. Make sure your phone is download capable.
  4. If you have never accessed the Web browser on your phone, follow these steps:
  • Press the "Menu" key on your phone
  • A message will appear: "Security is not enabled. Enabling security can take several minutes. Proceed?" Select YES and create a new unique security key for your phone.
  • This will take several minutes, do not turn off your phone.
You won't be charged for any unsuccessful downloads.
 
Can I download ringtones or images from any Web site?
No. TELUS Mobility manages the delivery of ringtones and images for their clients to ensure artists and content owners are rightfully compensated for licensing fees.
 
Can I download ringtones or images that I've created on my computer?
No, this feature is currently not available.
 
Do I need a cable to download my ringtones and images?
No, all downloads are done over-the-air without the need for any additional accessories.

Can I transfer existing ringtones or images from my current phone to another phone?
No, downloaded selections cannot be transferred from one phone to another, even if you replace your phone.
 
Downloading a ringtone or image only allows you to use that property on your TELUS Mobility phone. You are expressly prohibited from transmitting, distributing, reproducing and modifying any ringtone or image downloaded to your phone.
